As a tribute to your 50-year contribution to the study, we will be planting a mini BCS70 forest dedicated to study members. Trees, like the study, are a valuable resource for future generations, and the shovels and saplings will be going in this autumn.
Every year that you have given to the study has helped society by providing policymakers with evidence to inform their decisions. Your contribution helps others, and will benefit future generations too. In the same way, planting a tree is an investment in the future, as it takes some time to develop and grow before it can provide shelter and shade for generations to come. This is why we have decided to plant trees, to symbolise your contribution to society and show our appreciation.
The BCS70 woodland will be situated in the Forest of Bowland, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The site will include a dedication to the study and will be situated near a free car park so that those of you who wish to visit in the future can do so.
We will keep you updated in the coming months, so please check this space and our Facebook page for further details, including a map to the site.
