In order to mark your 50th birthday, and to thank you for taking part in this amazing study for five decades, we have a special programme lined up for you this year.
Check in with this page regularly for the latest updates, and get ready to blow out your candles!
We will continue to follow advice from Public Health England about coronavirus (COVID-19). We have already scheduled the birthday parties for later in the year, and we’re aware we may be required to change some of our plans for the Age 50 Survey or the birthday celebrations as the situation develops. If plans change, we will notify you by email and on our website. Please help us stay in touch by making sure we have your correct email address (see below).
We are hosting five celebratory events for study members across the country:
Tickets will be allocated through a random ballot. If you’re successful in the ballot, we’ll offer you two tickets, one for you and one for a guest.
We will endeavour to notify all study members who enter the ballot if they have been successful or not by Monday 8 June 2020. Tickets are free, but you will need to pay for your own travel and accommodation.
Throughout the 50th year, we’ll be sharing a different story from the study every week here on our website, and through a special Facebook page.
Follow along to learn more about the study’s history, the amazing scientific discoveries you’ve made possible, and how you’ve helped make a difference for future generations. We’ll also be featuring stories from your fellow study members and past directors, and sharing every time BCS70 is in the news!
You’ll be able to access all this information through our website and Facebook page. If we have your email address, we’ll also send you occasional updates with the information.
It wouldn’t be a special milestone without another survey! We are hoping to launch the Age 50 Survey later this year. We’re really looking forward to catching up with you again. We’ll write closer to the time to invite you to take part and to let you know what the survey will involve. In the meantime, you can check out the Age 50 Survey page.
Those of you living in Great Britain will be visited at home, but this time we hope that those of you living overseas will be able to take part online.
Throughout the year, we’ll be emailing study members with information about the birthday parties, and to share more stories from the study as we look back on the past 50 years. We also want to let you know any time BCS70 is in the news.
Not on email? No problem. You’ll be able to get all the same information here on our website, and we’ll send you a wrap-up by post next year. Just remember to let us know if your address changes!
In order to stay in the loop, please keep your contact details up to date by filling out the online contact form.
To mark your 50th birthdays, and to say thank you for everything you’ve given to the study for half a century, we’ve sent you each a copy of a special anniversary publication. We hope you take pride in reading about how much BCS70 has already achieved, thanks to you. If you don’t receive your copy or […]
